Welcome to the second edition of the National Diversity Council newsletter for 2021. Over the course of the second quarter, the National Diversity Council (NDC) has hosted various virtual LGBTQ+ Unity Summits across the nation for pride month and hosted the Certified Diversity Professional Program virtually in New York, New York; Chicago, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Raleigh, North Carolina; Austin, Texas; and Detroit, Michigan with more than 890 individuals holding the prestigious industry certification.
May marked Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month in which the National Diversity Council kicked off with a heritage and legacy video series leading up to the second 2021 AAPI Leadership Summit. June welcomed Pride Month featuring virtual LGBTQ+ Unity Summits: “The Intersections of Allyship,” with a panel of speakers who spoke on topics such as how to be a vocal and visible advocate for LGBTQ+ rights around the world; integrating LGBTQ+ policies that promote intersectionality; and how to implement company-specific and adaptable LGBTQ+ practices. July kicked off our virtual 2021 National Healthcare DEI Conference featuring keynote speakers; a Top Three Healthcare Diversity Leaders and Organizations’ Award Ceremony; breakout sessions and panel discussions on topics such as building resilient teams; supporting your community during a crisis; best practices in patient-provider communication and more.
As the year progresses, we invite you to join us in this journey working towards equity and inclusion for all by keeping up to date at nationaldiversitycouncil.org.
