Welcome to the first edition of the National Diversity Council newsletter for 2021. Over the course of the first quarter, the National Diversity Council (NDC) has hosted various virtual Women in Leadership Symposiums across the nation for women’s history month and hosted the Certified Diversity Professional Program virtually in Seattle, Washington; Newark, New Jersey;Dallas, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cincinnati,Ohio; Los Angeles, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah, with more than 700 individuals holding the prestigious industry certification.
March marked the start of the celebration of women’s history month, with the National Diversity Council kicking off symposiums in Arizona, Colorado, Florida,Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, New York and Wisconsin. A panel of speakers in various industries spoke on topics such as how to work in the new norm: work-life integration; I am not your superwoman: debunking women having to take care of everything; women across generational work styles; there is no one definition of a woman: intersectionality and identity (Race, LGBTQ+, Ethnicity, etc…); and the power of no: setting boundaries in a work-from-home world.
