Welcome to the second edition of the National Diversity Council newsletter for 2020. Over the course of the second quarter, the National Diversity Council (NDC) has hosted various virtual Women in Leadership Symposiums and LGBTQ+ Unity Summits across the world. In addition to this, our CEO, Angeles Valenciano, announced the inaugural launch of the National Coalition for Racial Justice and Equity on Juneteenth in solidarity with communities impacted by systemic racism. This initiative aims to advance racial equity for all to transform the nation and achieve social justice through programs focused on economic development, education, immigration, housing, the justice system and underserved youth.
The National Diversity Council stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the fight for diversity, equity and inclusion. We encourage you, your friends, colleagues, family and leaders of your organization to sign our pledge to support the Black community. By signing the pledge, you recognize it’s not enough to “not be racist”, but being actively anti-racist and against racial injustice. Sign the Allyship Pledge and access our ally resource guide.
Our founder and board chairman, Dennis Kennedy was recently featured in the Houston Business Journal speaking on the need for racial equity and our CEO was featured in Latin Business Today on leadership during COVID-19.
As the year progresses, we invite you to join us in this journey working towards equity and inclusion for all by keeping up to date at nationaldiversitycouncil.org.
