The Georgia Diversity Council successfully hosted its Inaugural Annual Healthcare Diversity Summit on July 13, 2018 at the Emory Hospital Midtown in Atlanta. Event attendees participated in dialogue related to the understanding of foundations, philosophies, and processes that strengthen diversity management, inclusion as well as culturally competent care delivery. The theme of the event was “Flipping the Script: Changing the Dialogue of Inclusion in Healthcare.”
This year’s Keynote Speaker was Dr. Keri Norris, Chief of Health Policy & Administration at the Fulton Dekalb Hospital Authority. Attendees also heard from an executive panel including Nico Reynders, Global Head of Talent Partnering and Talent Solutions Lead PV of Operations at UCB, Willie Arnold, Administrator of Clinic Operations at Emory Healthcare, and Tari Owl, Program Director at Grady’s Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center. They facilitated conversations relating to the many forms of D&I in the healthcare industry, being intentional when creating a culture of inclusion, and leveraging development/recruitment programs to increase diversity within our leadership teams.
The Georgia Diversity Council would like to thank all sponsors, speakers, and attendees for making this event a success.
