We would like to welcome you to the third edition of the 2018 Pennsylvania Diversity Council Newsletter. We are very excited about our past accomplishments and look forward to our upcoming events in the year.

This past July, we welcomed Kate Padula as the new coordinator for the Pennsylvania Diversity Council. Kate is local to the Philadelphia area and under her leadership we look forward to revamping the Pennsylvania Council and increasing council engagement.

Coming up on September 6, we will be hosting our signature event, the Diversity and Leadership Conference, in Philadelphia. This annual event is held to educate and create local dialogue on diversity and inclusion and to celebrate the wide array of differences in our communities. Participants will have an opportunity to attend a wide array of workshops and hear from dynamic speakers that will increase their knowledge and understanding of a diverse workplace and community.

On October 27, in Philadelphia, we will be hosting our College Diversity Summit. This event is a conduit which creates connectors within the high-potential talent pipeline. This unique initiative completes the search by accomplishing three objectives; the Summit empowers college students and recent graduates with a real world knowledge transfer of tools and resources not experienced in their traditional educational curriculum. Intimate learning sessions will be facilitated by industry experts and renowned change agents with proven results on best and next practices. Secondly, it provides educational institutions focused on career placement a forum to accelerate employment opportunities with top corporations for its student body. Finally, talent acquisition professionals’ will gain access to the most sought after high- potential and diverse candidates spanning across all educational disciplines.

We hope you will have the opportunity to participate in one or both of these upcoming events and learn more about our organization, as we continue to champion, educate, and raise awareness about diversity in Pennsylvania – one organization and one community at a time.
