Welcome to the second edition of the Tri-State Diversity Council newsletter for 2018. We are excited to share some Council updates for this quarter, and discuss some of our upcoming initiatives.
I would first like to share my excitement in stepping into the Chair position for the Tri-State Diversity Council’s Board of Directors. Our former Chair – Peter Wilson, Chief Diversity Officer of Proskauer Rose LLP – helped grow the Tri-State Diversity Council during his term over the past three years. I look forward to working closely with our corporate partner organizations to further expand this growth and momentum, as well as leverage our many diversity and inclusion best practices to enhance our programming and efforts.
We would also like to welcome Morgan Stanley as our newest Platinum partner organization, and their representative – Kate Hutchinson, Regional Diversity Officer at Morgan Stanley – for serving as a Board of Director representative on behalf of their partnership with us.
With regard to upcoming programming, the Tri-State Diversity Council will launch the first Tri-State Healthcare Diversity Summit on June 8th in NYC at Mount Sinai Health System. This event aims to highlight the importance and challenges of promoting diversity and inclusion within the healthcare industry. You can find more information about the upcoming program here.
Our June chapter meetings will take place in the middle of the month in CT, NJ, and NY. We encourage you to attend these meetings which allows you to network with other council members and take advantage of the great educational segments that we will offer. In Connecticut (June 20th), we will discuss “Diversity of Thought,” in New Jersey (June 21st) the topic will be “Measuring the Impact of D&I,” and in New York (June 22nd) we will present “Mindfulness & Implicit Bias.” If you would like to attend these meetings, please contact [email protected] for more information.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our partners, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make our recent Women in Leadership Symposiums a success! You can read a summary of the events and check out the event photos here.
