Welcome to the Florida Diversity Council’s Quarter 2 Newsletter. Our Board of Directors is excited about the commitment that multiple individuals and organizations have demonstrated towards the FLDC’s mission to promote inclusion throughout the state. We are very pleased to welcome Morgan Stanley as our newest Bronze corporate partner organization for the Tampa Bay chapter.

The FLDC has multiple initiatives taking place over the next few months. Our annual Florida LGBT-Allies Diversity Summit will be taking place in June with the purpose of exploring how organizations can support LGBT employees and customers and create an inclusive workplace culture. We are humbled and honored to have Barbara Poma, the Owner of Pulse Night Club and Executive Director of the OnePulse Foundation, serve as our keynote speaker for this year’s Summit.

Over the summer and into the fall, the FLDC will hold our annual Diversity Best Practices Meeting Series throughout the state, which serve to provide a comprehensive look into the diversity & inclusion programs that local business leaders implement within their own organizations. In addition, we will hold our annual Florida Healthcare Diversity Summit, which examines the additional considerations specific to the healthcare industry that factor into the D&I initiatives of healthcare organizations, such as cultural competence, patient satisfaction, and community outreach.

There are numerous ways for you and your colleagues to become increasingly involved in the Council, whether at the statewide or local chapter level. If you would like to learn more about these various opportunities, such as membership or volunteer opportunities, please contact Sofia Reed, Regional Director, at [email protected].
