The Texas Diversity Council in partnership with the Multicultural Community Relations Office of Public Affairs at Rice University is proud to announce the 8th Annual Texas Diversity Council Summer Youth Program. This week long program will engage sixty students from local middle and high schools from June 11-15, 2018 on the Rice University Campus.

Most of these gifted students come from lower income households, and with a little guidance, have the potential to be the first in their families to attend college. The program is designed to provide lessons and activities which will equip these students for a successful transition into college and through to graduation. Included are writing workshops, SAT/ACT practice exams, presentations on financial aid and the admissions process, leadership activities, art exhibits, and much more.

We are proud to have awarded over $10,000 in scholarships. Each year the program continues to grow and this year will be no different. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with both logistics and as presenters for our various panels and lessons. This is a tremendous program, and truly a great way to give back to the Houston community. We want to give special thanks to ConocoPhillips and Valic for being long time sponsors. Together we are making dreams come true.
