On October 5, 2017, the Arizona Diversity Council hosted the 2017 Arizona DiversityFIRST™ Awards Luncheon at Arizona State University in Glendale, AZ. The event honored recipients of the DiversityFIRST™ award and provided networking and diversity best practices sessions. This year’s keynote speaker was acclaimed actor Tony Plana.
“The Arizona DiversityFIRST™ Awards Luncheon honored individuals and organizations for their achievements in the diversity and inclusion field and provided best practice and networking sessions for attendees,�? said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and CEO of the National Diversity Council.
The luncheon began with registration followed by concurrent sessions on leadership and diversity best practices. After lunch, individuals and organizations were honored with the DiversityFIRST™ Award. Recipients of this award have demonstrated outstanding achievements and sustained commitment to the pursuit of cultural diversity and inclusion in the community and workplace. Following the awards presentation, the event ended with a message from keynote speaker Award winning Star of “Ugly Betty�?, Tony Plana.
