In October 2017, the Pacific Northwest Diversity Council hosted the Healthcare Diversity Summit in both Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. The events were held at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel and the OHSU Center for Health & Hearing, respectively. Attendees of these summits collectively address all issues pertaining to diversity in healthcare that have impacted individuals, organizations and communities.
“This summit is a great place to participate in dialogue that emphasizes the importance of diversity in the healthcare industry,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chair of the National Diversity Council. “Our hope is that these discussions motivate participants to put what they have learned into action within their own organizations.”
The summit began at 8:00 a.m. with registration, breakfast, and networking. The half-day event featured multiple healthcare professionals from various organizations discussing topics such as “Cultural Competence,” and “Becoming a Culture of Inclusive Excellence” Following panel discussions, audience members were then given the opportunity to participate in an open question and answer session.
The Pacific Northwest Diversity Council would like to thank all the sponsors, speakers and attendees for helping to make this event a success.
