On September 21, 2017 the Louisiana Diversity Council hosted the Louisiana Women’s Conference at the Le Méridien New Orleans from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This conference offered women a venue to learn from and network with the top female business leaders in the state. A select group of leading women in business were also be recognized for their professional accomplishments during award ceremonies throughout the day. This year’s keynote speaker was Donona Brazile, Veteran Democratic Political Strategist, Founder and Managing Director
Brazile & Associates LLC.

“The Louisiana Women’s Conference is an excellent place to showcase the great strides women continue to make in the business world,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder & Chair of the National Diversity Council. “Highlighting the leading women in Louisiana shows women that their aspiration are not unattainable.”

The conference opened at 8:30 with registration, breakfast and networking. Conference attendees had the opportunity to enhance their professional skillsets by discussing topics such as “BE Triumphant: Secrets to Winning at Work,” “BE Proactive: Getting What You Want Out of Life,” and “BE Fierce: Getting to the Corner Office.” These topics were designed to challenge conventional ideology and promote organizational changes incorporating gender diversity.

In addition to hosting informative discussion sessions, the Louisiana Women’s Conference also recognized the 2017 Top 15 Business Women in Louisiana during an award luncheon. Keynote speaker Donna Brazile had the honor of participating in this special award presentation. The Top 15 Business Women of Louisiana Award is reserved for women who are top leaders in their organizations and serve as inspiring role models and to women in their industry.
