Greetings from Peter Wilson, Jr., Chair of the Tri-State Diversity Council’s Board of Directors We would first like to welcome NYPA as our newest Platinum Board partner; McCarter & English as our newest Silver partner; and Telephonics as our newest Bronze New York partner of the Tri-State Diversity Council (i.e., TSDC). We look forward to partnering with these organizations to promote the importance of diversity and inclusion efforts throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Our 2017 Diversity Best Practices Meetings comprised presenters who represented Bloomberg LP, Pitney Bowes, TBWA, UPS, Wells Fargo, and Wesleyan University. This program highlights the importance of diversity and inclusion efforts in the workplace, including challenges and success stories within their organizations. Today is the day of our Diversity & Leadership Conference, and we look forward to having Oris Stuart, the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer of the NBA, as well as Monica Smith, Founder & CEO of Marketsmith, serve as our two keynote speakers.

Based on feedback we have received from corporate partners, individual members, and local business and community leaders in the Tri-State region, we are incredibly excited to announce that we will launch a brand new program in September known as the Legal Diversity Summit. During this event, panelists will share insights on diversity and inclusion best practices that pertain to the legal industry.

We would especially like to invite you to participate in another program that is premiering in the Tri-State region this year – the National Diversity Council’s certification program taking place October 0-13 in Newark. This newly-developed program has already helped to educate and certify diversity professionals in other states and we look forward to hosting the program in the TSDC in a few months. If you are interested in becoming a certified diversity professional, do not miss out on this great opportunity.

If you would like to become involved in the TSDC, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for your continued support.

Peter Wilson, Jr.
