The Straz Center and USAA Partner to Help Carry the Message: It Gets Better

When the Straz Center for the Performing Arts booked It Gets Better, an international performing arts sensation inspired by journalist Dan Savage’s It Gets Better movement to advocate for LGBTQ youth, the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) jumped on board to support the event. Monkey Madness Run Raises Awareness and Funds for Fragile X Syndrome

Families for Fragile X held its 8th Annual Monkey Madness 5K Run/Walk, presented by EGIS Insurance & Risk Advisors to support Fragile X Syndrome. The event was held on March 12th, 2017 at Zoo Miami. It raised awareness and funds about Fragile X. Fragile X Syndrome is the leading inherited cause of intellectual disabilities and the most common known cause of Autism worldwide. One million women in the U.S. carry the gene that causes Fragile X. Tampa Bay Diversity Council Supports PACE Center for Girls

Each year the Tampa Bay chapter of the Florida Diversity hosts a strategic planning session for all who wish to participate. As in years before, the desire to expand the support given to our community partners was voiced. In response, under the leadership of our Community Partnerships Co-Chair Phyllis Timmons, representing Florida Blue, the Tampa Bay Diversity Council (TBDC) recently coordinated a donation drive benefitting the PACE Center for Girls Hillsborough. On March 7, 2017, the California Diversity Council held the 8th Annual Orange County Women in Leadership Symposium hosted by Orange Coast College.
