On March 8, 2017, the Louisiana Diversity Council held the 5th Annual Baton Rouge Women in Leadership Symposium hosted by Cox Communications. Attendees gained knowledge and advice from female executives who shared insight from their personal success and career experience.

“Our hope is that this symposium helps improve female representation across the nation,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chairman of the National Diversity Council. “Bringing women together to educate and encourage one another is a great place to begin the path to success.”

The half-day event featured multiple business leaders from various organizations. This year’s symposium focused topics such as “Transforming the Rules of Engagement”, “The Power of No: Defining your Impact as a Leader”, and “Leading with Authenticity: Strategies for Success with Your Own Leadership Style”.

The symposium began with a welcome from Anthony Pope, Sr. VP/Regional Mgr. at Cox Communications Southeast Region, and Fran Gladden, VP of Public Affairs at Cox Communications, Inc. Following a series of speeches presented by six featured panelists, audience members were given the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts on the discussion topics presented.

The Louisiana Diversity Council would like to thank all the sponsors, speakers and attendees for helping to make this event a success. Program booklets, photos, and other events can be viewed on the Louisiana Post Event Timeline.
