We would like to welcome you to the second edition of the 2017 Georgia Diversity Council Newsletter. We are very excited about our past accomplishments and look forward to our upcoming events in the year.
This past quarter, the Georgia Diversity Council hosted our Women in Leadership Symposium in April. This half day event brought women executives together to discuss their career accomplishments and obstacles they had to overcome to reach the top of their organization. A special thank you to all the speakers, sponsors and attendees for helping to make the event a success.
Looking ahead, the council will feature events covering many different aspects of diversity, highlighted by our 2017 LGBT Allies Diversity Summit, scheduled for June 9. The purpose of this annual event is to candidly discuss the benefits and challenges that accompany effective inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender team members in the workplace. For more information, be sure to check out the article covering the summit in this edition of our newsletter.
As the Georgia Diversity Council continues to grow, we will add initiatives and programs, which address a broader variety of topics, such as corporate responsibility, women’s leadership, and the importance of education among our youth. We will also offer consulting and mentoring services specifically catered to your organization’s needs, whether it be the formulation of diversity and inclusion efforts, corporate responsibility programs, or any other initiatives you may require.
We hope you will have the opportunity to participate in some of our upcoming 2017 events and learn more about our organization, as we continue to champion, educate, and raise awareness about diversity issues in Georgia – one organization and one community at a time.
