The Georgia Diversity Council hosted its 2017 Women in Leadership Symposium at Arby’ s headquarters on April 28th. This annual event attracted attendees from across the state who gathered to hear from local executives about their insights regarding the event theme of “Be Fearless: Influence, Innovate, and Inspire.
“This event provides an incredible platform for aspiring female leaders in Georgia to gain valuable knowledge and advice from local executives that they can apply to their careers,” said Angeles Valenciano, CEO of the National Diversity Council.
The half-day event featured multiple business leaders from various organizations discussing topics such as “The Difference ‘ Difference’ Makes – Double Minority Leadership,” “Leading With Authenticity: Strategies for Success With Your Own Leadership Style,”, “Switching Your Career: When Life Calls for a U-Turn.” and Transforming the Rules of Engagement and Lifting up the Next Generation of Women. The symposium began with a welcome and formal introduction of the participating panelists. Each panelist was able to address a specific topic of discussion in addition to engaging with the other panelists regarding the panel topics. Question and answer sessions were also held during the event, promoting participation amongst attendees.
The Georgia Diversity Council would like to thank the event sponsors Arby’ s, AMB Group, IHG, Safe-Guard Products, SunTrust, and MaryKay for their support of the Women in Leadership Symposium. Special thanks to all the volunteers, speakers and attendees for helping to make this event a success.
