Donna Brazile is Veteran Political Strategist, television political commentator, and author. Her passion for politics sprouted at the age of nine when she worked to elect a City Council candidate who promised to build a playground in her neighborhood. Brazile attributes that candidate’s win to her future career in the political field. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Psychology from Louisiana State University, she went on to make history as the first African-American to manage a presidential campaign. Ms. Brazile, in partnership with the Louisiana Recovery Board, also played an instrumental role in the full recovery of New Orleans following the devastation of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. Her hard work has not gone unrecognized, as she is the recipient of many awards such as Oprah’s 20 Remarkable Visionaries, Washingtonian Magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Women, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s highest award for political achievement.
