The Washington Diversity Council will host the 2016 Washington Diversity and Leadership Conference on November 17, 2016 at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel. The conference will feature multiple speakers presenting on a variety of topics. In addition, business leaders will be recognized with a series of awards highlighting their commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This year’s theme is “Diversity: Driving Business Forward.”
“I am always honored to be in the presence of outstanding individuals who advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chairman of the National Diversity Council. “Their achievements epitomize the exceptional capabilities of individuals from all backgrounds.”
Throughout the day, a variety of notable speakers will lead workshops discussing diversity, leadership, and power. Headlines such as “Racism, Power & Privilege,” “Maintaining Balance in a 24/7 World,” and “Cross-Generational Competence” are only a few of the exciting featured workshops. Featured keynote speaker, Dr. George C. Wright, Prairie View A&M University President, will also be present to share the knowledge he has gained throughout his career. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their thoughts during question and answer sessions following each discussion.
Two awards will also be presented at the Washington Diversity & Leadership Conference: The Most Powerful and Influential Women Award and the Leadership Excellence Award. During breakfast, top female business leaders will be presented with the Most Powerful and Influential Women Award. This award highlights women that exemplify undeniable leadership by demonstrating commitment to community, and significantly impacting company revenues and profitability. The Leadership Excellence Award will be presented during the mid-day luncheon. This award distinguishes individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to fostering equality and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills.
