We would like to welcome you to the third edition of the 2016 Texas Diversity Council Newsletter. We are very excited about our past accomplishments in the second quarter and look forward to our upcoming events.

This past quarter, the Texas Diversity Council offered the DiversityFIRST ™ Certifications program in Houston, TX, in partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown. The program prepared qualified business professionals to create and implement highly successful D&I strategies for organizational excellence and a competitive edge in today’s global business marketplace. Over 15 participants completed the program and earned the National recognition NDCCDP (National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional).

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the council will be hosting the 12th Annual Best Practices & DiversityFIRST™ Luncheon in four cities across the state of Texas: Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. This annual luncheon is held in order to share best practices in the areas of diversity and inclusion. A number of individuals and corporations will also be recognized for their contributions to the improvement of workplace diversity. For more information on this event and to register, please visit texasdiversitycouncil.org/2016luncheon.

As the Texas Diversity Council continues to grow, we will add initiatives and programs, which address a broader variety of topics, such as corporate responsibility, women’s leadership, and the importance of education among our youth. We will also offer consulting and mentoring services specifically catered to your organization’s needs, whether it be the formulation of diversity and inclusion efforts, corporate responsibility programs, or any other initiatives you may require.

We hope you will have the opportunity to participate in some of our upcoming 2016 events and learn more about our organization, as we continue to champion, educate, and raise awareness about diversity issues in Texas – one organization and one community at a time.

Sincerely,
