We would like to welcome you to the third edition of the 2016 Washington Diversity Council Newsletter. We are very excited about our past accomplishments in the second quarter and look forward to our upcoming events in the year.
This past quarter, the Washington Diversity Council held the LGBT Awards Breakfast and Roundtable on June 9, in Seattle. This event afforded attendees the opportunity to share best practices on LGBT polices within the workforce. Several business executives were also recognized for their contributions to the LGBT community with the LGBT Leadership award. We would like to thank all the speakers, sponsors and attendees for helping to make this program a success.
Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the council will host our most popular event, the Diversity and Leadership Conference in Seattle. This conference will afford organizations the opportunity to explore tools and resources necessary to build diverse workforces and remain competitive on a global stage, as well as a valuable opportunity for individuals to network together and grow in their knowledge of diversity and leadership, which can be utilized to craft long and distinguished careers. Finally, our speakers and various panel sessions will offer a unique perspective on a plethora of topics, including the creation of a diverse workforce, essential leadership skills, personal branding, and diversity and inclusion best practices. As the Washington Diversity Council continues to grow, we will add initiatives and programs, which address a broader variety of topics, such as corporate responsibility, women’s leadership, and the importance of education among our youth. We will also offer consulting and mentoring services specifically catered to your organization’s needs, whether it be the formulation of diversity and inclusion efforts, corporate responsibility programs, or any other initiatives you may require.
We hope you will have the opportunity to participate in some of our upcoming 2016 events and learn more about our organization, as we continue to champion, educate, and raise awareness about diversity issues in Washington - one organization and one community at a time.
Sincerely,
Dennis Kennedy
