The Washington Diversity Council is hosting the 2016 Diversity & Leadership Conference, in an effort to recognize and empower multiculturalism and leadership throughout the state. The event will be held November 17, 2016 at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel. The purpose of the Diversity & Leadership conference is to create a forum for organizations, professionals, and community stakeholders to come together, network, and learn how to build diverse workforces and remain competitive on the global stage. Several business executives will also be recognized during the event for their career accomplishments and leadership excellence.

“It is an honor for us to recognize these extraordinary individuals who have risen above the numerous challenges and barriers in their paths and achieved success in their distinguished careers,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder & Chair of the National Diversity Council.

The full-day event will feature concurrent sessions that address topics relating to the conference theme of “Diversity & Inclusion 2.0: Aligning Purpose, People, and Performance.” Our speakers and various panel sessions will offer a unique perspective on a plethora of topics, including the creation of a diverse workforce, essential leadership skills, personal branding, and diversity and inclusion best practices.

During the luncheon, attendees will hear from the conference keynote speaker, George Wright, President of Prairie View A&M University, about leadership development and the importance of diversity & inclusion. A series of awards will also be given in recognition of leadership excellence including the 2016 Most Powerful & Influential Women award and the 2016 Leadership Excellence award.

We encourage you to join us and actively participate with your colleagues, while taking your newly acquired knowledge back to your organization and sharing it with your coworkers, managers, and senior leadership, in order to promote a diverse and inclusive environment for all.
