The Michigan Diversity Council is hosting the 2016 Diversity & Leadership Conference on November 15, 2016 at Wayne State University in Detroit. The purpose of the Diversity & Leadership conference is to create a forum for organizations, professionals, and community stakeholders to share their experiences and learn how to build diverse workforces that will remain competitive on the global stage. Several business executives will also be recognized during the event for their career accomplishments and leadership excellence. The theme of this year’s conference is “Unconscious Biases: How they Affect Productivity in the Workplace.”

“It is an honor for us to recognize these extraordinary individuals who have risen above the numerous challenges and barriers in their paths and achieved success in their distinguished careers,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder & Chair of the National Diversity Council.

The full-day event will begin with registration at 7:00 a.m, followed by the Most Powerful & Influential Women Awards Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. During this breakfast, a group of extraordinary female executives will be honored for their ability to find success in a male dominated corporate world. A number of phenomenal executives will also be recognized for the professional achievements during the Multicultural Leadership Awards Luncheon. Throughout the day, attendees will then have the opportunity to attend various panel discussions covering topics such as “Top Leader Competencies,” “Millennials in the Workplace,” and “Creating a Diversity Strategy.” Each featured speaker will offer a unique perspective on the lessons they learned about the benefits of diversity and inclusion while climbing the corporate ladder.

We encourage you to join us and share your newly acquired knowledge with your coworkers, managers, and senior leadership, in order to promote a diverse and inclusive environment for all.
