On September 1, 2016, the Pennsylvania Diversity Council will host their 7th Annual Philadelphia Diversity & Leadership Conference at the Hilton Philadelphia – City Avenue. The conference will feature multiple speakers presenting a variety of topics. A diverse group of business leaders will also be recognized with awards highlighting their professional achievements. The theme of this year’s conference is “Diversity 2.0: Aligning Purpose, People, and Performance.”
“I am always honored to be in the presence of outstanding individuals who advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chairman of the National Diversity Council. “Their achievements epitomize the exceptional capabilities of individuals from all backgrounds.”
The conference will begin at 8:00 a.m. with registration and breakfast. Throughout the day, a variety of notable speakers will lead workshops and panels discussing diversity and leadership. Highlighted topics include “Building Higher Performance Teams,” “Multicultural Leadership,” and “Top Competencies for Leadership.” Attendees will be able to contribute to the conversation during question and answer sessions following each panel discussion.
Two awards will also be presented during the conference: the Most Powerful & Influential Woman award and the Multicultural Leadership award. They will be presented during breakfast and lunch, respectively. The Most Powerful & Influential Women Award honors women that demonstrate undeniable leadership by achieving professional success as company leaders despite the odds. The Multicultural Leadership Award is designed to recognize individuals of color who have made a difference through their achievements and exemplify the ability to excel in their field.
